# Meet Selina!

**6–7 Years Old Female Professional Couch Potato & Belly Rub Enthusiast**

Selina is one very special girl with an incredible comeback story, and she's looking for a foster or forever family to help her write her next chapter!

Rescued from a local shelter after being abandoned by her previous owner, Selina came into our care weighing 101 pounds and struggling with undiagnosed hypothyroidism. Since starting medication, this sweet girl has been making amazing progress! She's visibly losing weight, slowly regaining her energy, and showing us more of her adorable personality every day.

And what a personality she has!

Selina is an incredibly sweet, affectionate, low-key girl who absolutely LOVES attention. Belly rubs? Yes, please! Snuggling up with her favorite humans? Even better! She's happiest lounging around the house, playing with her toys, or enjoying a little fresh air while relaxing in the grass.

**A few things to love about Selina:**

**Low-energy and laid-back:** Selina enjoys short, leisurely walks but is equally happy spending the day relaxing. As her health improves, we're seeing little bursts of playful energy!

**Sweet and affectionate:** She loves people, welcomes pets and belly rubs, and is incredibly tolerant of handling, grooming, and her daily medical care.

**Wonderful house manners:** Selina has been left home alone, uncrated, for up to six hours without any destructive behavior!

**Learning her routine:** She's making great progress with potty training and is getting better at letting us know when she needs to go outside.

**On the road to recovery:** Her hypothyroidism is being managed with medication, and she's responding beautifully! She'll need a family committed to helping her continue her weight-loss and wellness journey.

**Selina's Ideal Home**

At this stage, we believe Selina would thrive as the **only dog in the home**. While she's had some positive, calm interactions with another dog, we're taking introductions slowly as she continues to recover. A quiet, predictable environment where she can focus on her health, build confidence, and establish a routine would be ideal.

Selina doesn't need a marathon runner or a super active household. She's looking for someone who appreciates the simple things in life: leisurely strolls, comfy places to nap, plenty of affection, and unconditional love.

Selina needs a new foster home in the greater Atlanta area within the next couple of weeks. After all the progress she's made in a loving home environment, we desperately want to avoid placing her in boarding.

Selina has already come so far, and we know her best days are still ahead of her. All she needs is someone willing to give her the chance she deserves.
