MEET BILL!
10 weeks old Male American Bully mix
William “Bill” S. Preston, Esquire is one half of our Bill & Ted duo who came to us from Fresno with a pretty gnarly case of mange and itchy, uncomfortable skin. But those days are behind him, and Bill is officially ready to begin his most excellent adventure.
Ted has found his forever family, which means Bill is now searching for someone of his very own to party on with!
And can we talk about how HANDSOME this boy is becoming?! As his skin heals and his coat fills in, the most beautiful blue-gray coloring with tan accents is coming through. He’s short, stocky, squishy-faced and already 16 pounds — basically an adorable little bulldozer with legs.
But Bill isn’t just a pretty face. This boy has personality.
He’s affectionate, loyal, confident, playful and an absolute ZOOMIE KING. He loves to play, loves his people and happily greets everyone he meets. He’s also got some of those classic bully-boy characteristics we know and love: he can be independent, a little stubborn and occasionally has some opinions about who should be running the show.
Thankfully, Bill is food motivated and eager to please, which gives his future family a great foundation for training. He’s looking for someone who appreciates bully breeds and understands that structure, consistency, boundaries and continued socialization now will help this confident little guy grow into an incredible adult dog.
Bill lives with older dogs in his foster home and does well with them. He enjoys playing but isn’t constantly in their faces, and while he isn’t particularly submissive, he interacts appropriately. He has seen the resident cats from a distance without much reaction, but he hasn’t had direct interaction with them yet, so slow and thoughtful introductions would be important.
He also goes to work with his foster mom every day and is fantastic in the car! He’s doing great with potty training for his age and sleeps well in his pen while his foster mom works and overnight.
We expect Bill to grow into a short, thick, approximately 45–55 pound bully. Because of his stocky build and shorter muzzle, his family should also understand that he may be more sensitive to heat and strenuous exercise than your average adventure dog. He’ll happily join in on the fun — he just may be more neighborhood walks, playtime and air-conditioned road trips than 10-mile summer hikes.
Bill is a hilarious, happy, confident little puppy with so much love to give. With a family willing to give him the guidance every young bully deserves, we think he is going to be one truly special dog.
