Helen - American Bulldog Dog for Adoption in Lakeland, Florida

Helen is a 4 year old female American Bulldog around 41 pounds who is new to us and just beginning to settle in. As she decompresses, we're taking the time to learn more about her personality and what makes her special.

For now, Helen is looking for a patient, loving home that will give her the space and support she needs to adjust. Stay tuned as we get to know more about this sweet girl!



Helen Check-In 5/5/2026

Helen will be spending another night hospitalized at VHA, still on 40% oxygen as she continues to fight.

While we know she's battling pneumonia, the team is running more tests to understand what else may be going on. We're not out of the woods yet... but she's still here, still trying, and so are we.

Update 5/10/2026:

It's a check in from Helen!!



She is doing so much better ‍, almost there but a foster would get her the rest of the way. She does chase Cranes and Deer but when tested before she went to animal control when found as a stray good with dogs.. she is just trying to figure herself out too it seems..
