Mia - American Bulldog Dog for Adoption in Des Moines, Iowa

- On a recent Dog's Day Out: "Mia is extremely friendly and loves people! We went on multiple walks around the area and she was definitely interested in saying hi to other dogs - no barking, which was amazing! She behaved really well in my apartment and just wanted attention. She also made it very known when she had to go outside to potty. Mia did great!:

- Very friendly girl who loves people!

- Hops into laps, loves being petted and will nudge you for more, always wagging not just her tail but her whole body, and will "smile" when especially happy

- Loves treats and knows sit, stay, shake and come

- Makes friends easily with other dogs and has done great with cats, too

- Has done very well with children

- Previous family said she's pretty much potty trained; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new schedule

- All-around goofy, happy girl!

The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
