Meet Cooper
This handsome guy is settling into his foster home and proving to be a pretty sweet, easygoing companion.
He loves being near his person when they're home, and loves keeping tabs on whatever his human is doing from behind his eyelids .
Basically, if you're moving, Cooper would like to know where you're going. And once he's sure that his humans are safe, he is 100% happy to snooze the day away and let them go about their business
He enjoys short walks, does well in the car, and is perfectly happy to spend plenty of time relaxing afterward.
He's also learning that treats are an excellent form of currency when it comes to practicing his manners, and he takes them very politely from his human!
Cooper has done wonderfully with a Frenchie in the home, and we think he will love having a chill, respectful dog in his home. But this is one guy who we are sure will also do just fine as the king of his castle
What we already know is that Cooper is sweet, affectionate, wonderfully quirky, and pretty darn happy to be here. He doesn't need to be the fastest dog on the block or the life of every party. He just needs a family who appreciates a good pirate, enjoys having a silky smooth couch hippo nearby, and is ready to show this special guy just how good life can be!
A couple of notes that make our Coop even more special?
He was born with his unique little leg 'thing', likely genetic, that gives him just a bit of a pirate-like hitch in his giddy-up.
The good news is that he has been getting around on it his whole life and seems quite accustomed to navigating the world exactly as he is. He may have a little bit of a different stride, but Cooper isn't waiting around for anyone to feel sorry for him. He's busy being Cooper.
AndLovely boi is heartworm positive, but because he's otherwise a young, healthy dog, he is eligible for a specific treatment that will allow him to leave Austin.
Don't worry; heartworm infection is way LESS scary than it sounds, and our team will guide you through his care.
