Mary is a sweet, pretty cat who is playful and curious with a quiet, reserved nature. We do not know if Mary was the first born in her litter, but she gives off eldest-daughter vibes with her maturity. Mary was queen of the kittens when they first arrived in their foster home: First to walk well, eat, play, explore. Her foster family nicknamed her "the alpha" at first. She sometimes seems older than her age, with the coolness of an adult cat. (If we could use emojis in Petfinder, we would insert a cat wearing sunglasses here.) She still plays but is the quietest among the siblings. Mary has picked a favorite spot for relaxing in her foster home, and she is looking forward to finding the perfect place for a nap in her forever home.
Mary usually sleeps under the bed when she is in her foster dad’s bedroom, but sometimes she will lie atop the bed, keeping a little distance. You can pick her up and give her kisses, but she is not super affectionate yet with people.
Mary gets along with her littermates but has not gone through the introduction process with the other cats in her foster home; however, she is curious when the resident cats approach the barrier to the catroom. If you are looking for a pair of these precious siblings, Mary’s almost-twin is Fran (Pro tip for telling these gorgeous gals apart: Mary has an all-pink nose, and Fran has an adorable black smudge on her nose.), and they sleep and snuggle together often. Due to her quiet nature, Mary could potentially do OK as a solo cat, but being adopted with Fran may bring out more of her personality. We are not sure how Mary does with children. Her ideal home would not contain dogs.
Her foster dad found Mary’s mother and her litter in an abandoned shed at a cemetery.
“They lived for a month in that shed before I was able to rescue them,” their foster dad said. “Although I fed mom and brought them water, they still had to survive out there until I could get them in. They've all been through so much. Their mom was dumped and had kittens, and here they all are.”
Born in April 2026, Mary is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped and tested negative for FIV/FeLV.
