Mittens has the kind of face that makes you instinctively whisper, “You’re so little.” She’s still very much a baby, complete with oversized ears, wide green eyes, and the fluffiest tortoiseshell coat that looks like someone painted it with smoky charcoal and warm caramel. She’s absolutely breathtaking and she knows the world is still a pretty big place.

You’ll see a kitten who’s taking everything in one tiny step at a time. Watch as she discovers that wand toys are worth chasing, enjoys romping around with her siblings, and eventually decides that a cozy nap in loving arms isn't such a bad idea after all. It’s a sweet reminder that sometimes trust doesn’t happen all at once—it grows quietly.

Mittens is estimated to be about 4 months old, with a birthday of May 3, 2026. She appears to be a fluffy tortoiseshell kitten, though as with all rescue kittens, her breed is simply our best educated guess.

Mittens is part of the Cozy Litter, a trio of kittens discovering just how exciting life can be. She likes to take a little extra time before jumping into new situations, but once she feels comfortable, she's every bit the playful kitten you'd expect. Wand toys quickly caught her attention, and she had the best time chasing after them before darting off to romp around with her siblings. Watching her confidence grow, even over a short visit, was incredibly rewarding.

During our time together, Mittens needed a little extra reassurance while she figured out this new experience. She was quick to let us know she wasn't quite sure about everything yet, but the best part came later. Once she realized she was safe, she relaxed completely, curled up in one of our director's arms, and drifted off for a nap. It was such a beautiful glimpse of the affectionate little kitten waiting beneath those first-day jitters.

Like all kittens her age, Mittens is still learning that the world is full of wonderful things. She'll thrive with a family that lets her move at her own pace while encouraging her playful side to shine. We can already picture her racing after a feather wand one minute and curling up for a cozy nap the next.

And then there’s that coat. Her long, wispy fur gives her the appearance of a tiny woodland creature, with smoky black, chocolate, and caramel colors woven together in the most beautiful way. She’s the kind of kitten people can’t help but stop and admire before they’ve even noticed those curious little green eyes looking back at them.

We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system, ensuring every pet travel safely and comfortably with 24/7 care. Our transport includes drop off locations, in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). Before the adoption is finalized, you will meet your pet through a video call, creating a fun and personalized experience!

The adoption fee is $700 and includes all vetting: FVRCP vaccines (minimum of 2), FeLV vaccines (minimum of 2), Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, combo tested, extended medical such as dentals, eye surgeries, and orthopedic surgeries prior to adoption when suggested by our partner vets, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a health certificate deeming the kitty healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and many priceless years of love and loyal companionship!
