Update Sept 22nd - Amelia is at the Pet Valu, 1550 Upper James St in Hamilton. Go pay this cutie a visit.
Amelia was found near the end of July in a rural area under a bush by a landscaper. She was all alone and was sick. He brought her in to our vet for help and we were asked to take over her care. On exam it was found that she had a cuterebra ( bot fly ) in her neck area which was removed, wound flushed and put on antibiotics. She also had an URI . She was flea treated and dewormed then stayed on at the vet for treatment. Several days later she was still not eating much, more lethargic and dehydrated. She was put on IV, antibiotics and had more tests done. It came back positive for distemper She stayed on IV, & meds once she was feeling better she went to a foster home to remain in quarantine . She has fully recuperated, She has since received another flea treatment, deworming, 2 sets of FVCRP vaccines plus rabies and microchipped. Her spay in a month's time by AVA is also included in her $350 adoption fee. She is a very sweet, active, playful kitty who loved playing with the foster mom's own cats. She MUST go to a home with another young cat to interact with - please note your cat should be up to date with their vaccines as well. AVA has an indoor and no declaw policy.
