Meet Derby Darling Dreamboat, a beautiful grey tabby cat who is ready to become your next best friend! Change can be a little scary for a sensitive girl like Derby, so when she first arrives at her new home, she will probably find a cozy, hidden safe spot to check things out from afar. Her future family shouldn't worry, though, as this is just her way of safely taking in her new surroundings.

Once she realizes she is safe, Derby blooms into the most wonderfully affectionate companion you could ever ask for. She has a few specific sweet spots that are a direct path to making her purr like an engine. Head scratches are absolutely heavenly to her, and she can never resist a good chin scratch. But if you really want to win her heart, booty rubs are her absolute favorite!
When Derby is fully warmed up, she is an Olympic level cuddler who loves nothing more than pressing her soft grey coat right up against you to soak up all your warmth and love. She also happens to be quite the musician. She loves to vocalize and "sing the song of her people", especially when she is actively requesting some extra love, attention, or a few more of those premium scratches. If you have a little bit of patience to help her settle in, Derby promises to pay you back with a lifetime of sweet serenades, deep purrs, and the absolute best cuddles.

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?
The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This kitty you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!
Three Little Pitties Rescue (3LP) wants to set you and your new family member up for success! In addition to a fully vetted furbaby you also receive other additional perks such as a code for a free bag of cat litter AND a code for 50% off a 2nd bag of litter from Catalyst Pet, coupons for a fun visit to Petco, and support through our Facebook Adopters group where you can connect with thousands of other adopters, 3LP volunteers, fosters and staff. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescues and will require continued efforts but are well on their way to being the best kitties that they can be! We ask that you give them time (can take weeks to months) to decompress in their new home, do slow introductions to other pets and let their true personalities have a chance to come through.
We celebrated our 7 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 16,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
