Pilots for Paws flew Jazzy and two other Persians from a Midwestern cattery to me. He is a grand champion show cat who fathered many beautiful kittens. His breeder was having serious health issues and had to fly across the country for surgery. I believe it was to Florida, to get the procedure she needed so she was closing down her cattery. She told me that Jazzy's coat was called was a Cream Shell and this had made him very popular in the show ring. I think she said some of his longer guard hairs had two different colors on each hair, a cream and a reddish portion. There's no question he's a very beautiful cat.

He's not a super large boy he's a nice medium size. His coat is fairly easy to care for since he doesn't have much thick cottony undercoat that can make grooming extra troublesome. He is patient being groomed; he considers it affection and he likes all manner of attention from humans. This little boy simply loves everyone. He'll love strangers that come to your door. He wants to be around what you're doing. If you work from home, I can guarantee he'll be next to your computer. "Here I am let me just be near you". He gets along with other cats, but he doesn't really need them. What he needs is you.

His breeder loved her cats. She told me however that she had made a mistake in lending him to another breeder and this breeder kept him caged and didn't let him run around the house as she did. She worked to get him back and it took much too long a time. Maybe his need for attention and lots of cuddles, stems from this experience. Or maybe it's just he is a classic Persian and that's how Persians are. Perhaps both.

Jazzy is an absolute darling and could fill the heart of any human who wanted his love. He's healthy, he uses his box, (he doesn't spray) he eats well and doesn't cause any trouble. Except......... when Jazzy drinks water, he somehow gets it all over his chin and chest. He's wet!!!! We've tried different kinds of water bowls, and nothing really kept him dry. We determined that what we could do is to shave the hair on his chest and under his chin so it's shorter and easier to keep dry. He's nice about it of course but it is something that his new owner will need to watch out for. It doesn't take long for him to live up to his middle name which is Pigpen. I'm really not over emphasizing how wet he gets, trust me.
We all know that Persians take extra special daily attention as to their grooming. We know they are treasures who need to be protected and kept safe. And we know that Persian's are thought to be a little more fragile than some other breeds. They certainly are needy for the love of humans. I'm a big Persian lover and have had quite a few of my own. Loving them as I do, I have still never described them as being particularly smart. They are emotionally smart, and emotionally connected to their humans. That's what they're bred for. For better or worse they are bred to be docile, beautiful and extremely affectionate. I tell people they are very intimate, personal, in their connection to their humans.

To be loved by a Persian is a great source of peace and comfort in this difficult world. Some family will be so fortunate to have Jazzy's loving heart in their home.

Jazzy is: Neutered/Spayed, Vaccinated, FELV Tested, Dewormed, Microchipped, Wet Food, Dry Food, Litter Box Perfect

Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats (like me) with qualified adopters who will cherish me and create an ideal forever home.

NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other. A mismatch between a child and a cat is not in anyone's best interests!

Purebreds Plus cat Rescue (purebredsplus.org), serving Northern California, the San Francisco Bay Area, Oregon, and Northern Nevada, is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of purebred cats, kittens and other exceptional felines. We are a 501 (c)3 non-profit rescue group. Most of our beautiful felines come from Northern California Animal Shelters. One of our goals is to keep purebred cats from ever ending up in a shelter. We are happy to help you if you need to rehome your purebred cat. Often, we can offer advice if your cat is having behavioral problems, and you may end up keeping the cat. We do NOT ship cats. We will place cats out of area but you must arrange to come and meet your new friend in person.

ABOUT: PERSIAN CAT BREED

The Persian cat is a beloved breed known for its luxurious, long fur, flat face, and gentle temperament. Originating from Persia, now Iran, Persians are characterized by their round faces, short noses, and large, expressive eyes. These affectionate and calm cats make wonderful indoor companions, thriving in a peaceful and quiet environment. Persians require regular grooming to maintain their stunning coat and are prone to some health issues due to their flat facial structure.
