Mags came to us after his loving owner, a dear friend of LCAR, passed away. Mags is possibly a Himalayan mix and about 10 years old. He is currently in a medical foster, getting caught up on vaccinations, awaiting senior blood panel results and treating his feline ceremonious cystomatososis (ear cysts). FCC is a genetic condition causing benign, fluid-filled cysts that can block the ear canal. Our veterinarian has suggested trying to manage inflammation for now, since anesthesia for laser removal can be dangerous for senior cats.
Mags is a fun, easy boy, loving attention from people, dogs or other cats and will quietly outmaneuver other animals for pets. He loves head scritches, being brushed and making biscuits on your lap with his huge paws. He is confident and is starting to play in his foster home. He’s not thrilled about being held for long, but will follow you everywhere and loves company.
Mags is currently on the thin side so is loving getting a little extra wet food. He currently weighs 8 1/2 lbs and is growing back his fur after having lots of matting shaved out.
His FCC is fairly severe, and we are trying to figure out the best way to manage it, Mags also has a few cysts on his chin that don’t seem to bother him. He will need daily ear drops and/or cleaning to prevent infection/dirt buildup. He also will need daily brushing of his silky fur.

WE ONLY ADOPT WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard-to-place animals.
If the cat is under the age of 1 year old or has health issues, a vet reference is required, which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name.
ADOPTION FEE OF $125 covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip FIV/FeLV test, any other medical that may be required while in rescue. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap, so thank you for understanding and helping us save as many as possible.
We only do adoptions on Saturday, and not all animals are able to attend. If you would like to see a specific animal, please let us know via email and we will try to accommodate. However, we cannot guarantee the animal will be at the event without an approved application.
