Lilly came to us after their loving owner, a dear friend of LCAR, passed away. We’re guessing she is a Himalayan mix, about 11 years old, and is currently in a medical foster, getting caught up on vaccinations, awaiting senior blood panel results and treating her feline ceremonious cystomatososis (ear cysts). FCC is a genetic condition causing benign, fluid-filled cysts that can block the ear canal. Our veterinarian has suggested trying to manage inflammation for now, since anesthesia for laser removal can be dangerous for senior cats.
Lilly loves her head scritches and to be brushed and doted upon, but doesn’t appreciate being held or carried for long. She loves napping in little cubbies and just enjoying her retirement most of the day. She is an easy cat, happy laying on the cool tile floor and making air biscuits with her huge paws.
She will need eardrops and/or ear cleanings on a near daily basis to manage her FCC. She also needs daily brushing of her long, fine fur, which she does enjoy. Another maintenance issue with Lilly is that she tends to pee literally just outside the litter box. This is being easily managed with pee pads, as she is consistent with where she pees and has not had accidents anywhere else. She does poo inside the box.
Lilly came into rescue with her son, Mags, and they are fond of each other but not bonded. They would do great if adopted together, but it certainly is not necessary.

WE ONLY ADOPT WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard-to-place animals.
If the cat is under the age of 1 year old or has health issues, a vet reference is required, which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name.
ADOPTION FEE OF $125 covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip FIV/FeLV test, any other medical that may be required while in rescue. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap, so thank you for understanding and helping us save as many as possible.
We only do adoptions on Saturday, and not all animals are able to attend. If you would like to see a specific animal, please let us know via email and we will try to accommodate. However, we cannot guarantee the animal will be at the event without an approved application.
