Monkey - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Yucaipa, California

MONKEY is a male-neutered short hair brown tabby cat, born about early Dec. 2021. He (& Fern) are litter-mates, found together as stray kittens in the backyard of the rescuer, then kept as indoor only pets for over four years. Per his prior owner, "Monkey is initially shy with strangers, but warms up to you with time; his mood can vary from reserved to VERY loving; he's a little standoffish, but when he's in a loving mood, he's one of the sweetest cats I've ever met; he's good with dogs & other cats." Monkey's owner very reluctantly surrendered him (& Fern) to YAPS mid-August 2026 because she had to move to a place where no pets are allowed. We find Monkey to be stressed over the loss of his long-term home, so he usually doesn't come to you for affection. With a gentle approach, he likes being petted - nuzzles you & "kneads biscuits" in appreciation. He gets along well with other cats. When adopted, he should initially be placed in a "safe room", to adjust to his new surroundings at his pace.
