Fern - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Yucaipa, California

FERN is a female-spayed short hair brown tabby cat, born about early Dec. 2021. She (& Monkey) are litter-mates, found together as stray kittens in the back yard of the rescuer, then kept as indoor only pets for over four years. Per her prior owner, "Fern is petite, super cute & soft; she's easy going, comfortable doing her own thing; she's initially slightly shy with strangers, but warms up to you quickly, & is loving; she LOVES treats, especially freeze-dried fish; she's good with dogs & other cats." Fern's owner very reluctantly surrendered her (& Monkey) to YAPS mid-August 2026 because she had to move to a place where no pets are allowed. We find Fern to be calm, gentle, but stressed over the loss of her long-term home, so she may or may not come to you for affection. She loves being petted - nuzzles you, "kneads biscuits", &/or may roll over for stomach rubs in appreciation. When adopted, she should initially be placed in a "safe room", to adjust to her new surroundings at her pace.
