Natalie - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Toronto, Ontario

Small but mighty -- its Natalie!

Natalie arrived from an overcrowded municipal shelter where she underwent surgery and post-op care due to a severe neck wound. Much of her experience with humans has involved medical handling, so we are working to teach her that humans can bring kindness and love into her life!

ABOUT NATALIE
- At shelter
- Natalie is a skittish cat who has had minimal experience with humans. She is not a fan of hands and shows off her tough-girl persona from the streets when she's uncomfortable.
- This timid girl is still adjusting to life at the shelter, but she has been seen sharing slow blinks with volunteers and enjoying some Churu tube treat licked from a back-scratcher.
- Natalie has also been enjoying some gentle pets from the back-scratcher on her chin and cheeks.
- Though not entirely a kitten any longer, Natalie does have a cute and playful side that she shows at night when there are minimal people around. We are looking forward to seeing her become more comfortable showing that side during the daytime!
- Natalie is currently enrolled in EHS's socialization program, where dedicated volunteers are working to help her become more comfortable around people.
- Some skittish cats may remain reserved, while others may express their trust and affection in a variety of ways.
- Natalie is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.

NATALIES IDEAL HOME
- A skittish cat will benefit from a calm, quiet environment, preferably without small children.
- We do not yet know how Natalie does with cats or other animals.
- Natalie may benefit from having access to a safe space, such as a small room or bathroom, where she can stay when first brought home to help ease the transition to her new surroundings.
- Potential adopters should be prepared to commit the time, effort, and patience required to help Natalie settle into her new environment. EHS will provide post-adoption support to assist Natalie with a successful transition into her forever home.
