Solstice was rescued from the streets of the Bronx in December 2025. Despite being very skinny and malnourished, we quickly realized that she was pregnant. Now she has finished raising her last kitten and is looking for a home of her own.
Despite being fresh off the street, Solstice was immediately sweet and loving to her foster. Within a few days it was like she’d been there all along. She was overjoyed and thankful to be off the streets. When Solstice arrived in foster, her fur was extremely thin and her skin scabbing due to the malnutrition. She was giving everything she could to her kittens. Now Solstice is healthy and thriving. Her fur is full, soft, and shiny. Solstice is an absolute love bug. She is truly the sweetest girl and deserves a loving home where she can be an indoor lap cat for the rest of her days.
Solstice loves to be around people, especially her foster mom. She loves to get pets and be cuddled. If her foster mom is sitting on the couch or bed, she will jump up to cuddle with her human. (Solstice loves to curl up and sleep on the couch!) While she likes to follow her human around the house and keep them company, she is also content being on her own and enjoys sprawling out on a warm spot near the window. Solstice would be great for someone who wants a lap cat to cozy up with them on the couch each morning and night. Solstice longs to be a part of a family.
Solstice flops on her back and rolls around almost like a dog. Most cats won’t let you near their stomach but Solstice lives for belly rubs and scratches. She loves affection and doesn’t mind being picked up, but she would rather curl up on your lap. She flops on her back and squirms around letting out the loudest purring. Solstice can be chatty, but her meows are soft and precious. She has the cutest, scrunchy pug-like face.
Solstice is not very active, treats get her more excited than any toy. She is much more of a mellow lap cat. She is a calm, gentle, and loving presence. She looks at her foster mom constantly, almost like she understands what people are saying. Solstice loves to give jumping head butts. If you put your hand above her, she will jump into your hands with a loud purr and head butt. She loves to have her face pet.
If you are looking for someone that wants to be your constant companion, and to give and receive lots of affection, Solstice is your girl. Solstice is fine as an only cat. We don’t know how she would be with dogs or other cats. She has not met children, but given her gently nature we expect that she’d be OK with cat-savvy school aged kids.
Before she goes home she will be spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested for FIV/FeLV. She is currently in foster in NY’s Capitol Region, but we travel for great homes! Her adoption fee is $225. You can apply to adopt her here: https://form.jotform.com/250073732465152
