Humphrey came to us in heartbreaking condition with a large gaping wound on his inner thigh, severe ear infections, raw irritated skin from constant scratching, and missing patches of fur. The animal control facility caring for him did everything they could, but Humphrey needed extra TLC and time to heal, so he made his way to Heartland Humane Society.After weeks of care, treatment, and lots of love, Humphrey is finally over the hump and ready to find the forever home he deserves.Humphrey is FIV positive, but don’t let that scare you away — FIV+ cats can live long, happy, healthy lives with proper care. He also seems to do well with other cats and can safely live with non-FIV cats, as FIV is primarily transmitted through deep bite wounds, not casual contact.This sweet boy absolutely loves head scratches and cheek rubs and will happily lean in for gentle nuzzles. He’s affectionate, charming, and has that classic orange tabby personality that makes people fall in love fast. However, Humphrey can become overstimulated at times and may give a warning nip, especially if touched near his rear end. Because of this, he needs a cat-savvy adopter who understands feline body language and will respect his boundaries.Humphrey would do best in a calm home without young children.
