Mary is a young adult, about 2 years old. She and her brother were living outside and rescued just before a life threatening cold hit Cleveland. They were not bonded at all and her brother was recently adopted. She now has a new roommate (Johnny Rose) and they get along great. We think she is happier with him than her brother (you know how brothers can be!).
Like her namesake (Moira Rose) she is great conversationalist, and will tell everyone how she feels, whether pets are required or if that other kitty should just go away. Mary is on the shy side at first. But now she loves to be picked up and held. She will most likely need some time to adjust in her new home as well. She likes to explore the house but then comes back to join us in the living room and watch the outside critters.
We have this funny game she created. She loves to shoot her toy mice under the door to me, and I'll shoot them back to her, and back and forth we go. It's hilarious and very intentional.
Mary has learned that our dogs are OK so we think she could cohabitate with dogs that are reasonably calm around cats.
Mary tested negative for FIV/FELV. She is fixed, fully vaccinated, microchipped and weighs about 10 pounds. She consistently uses her litter box so no worries there. We would prefer an adult only home for Mary. Another kitty pal would be great if their play was not rough, We can tell you more when we chat.
Please note: You must be at least 22 years old to adopt. We have a strict indoor cat only policy. The adopter must agree to a screening process that includes an easy application, phone call, and an adoption agreement. Our goal is to find the best match for our dogs & cats and their new families, so that everyone lives happily ever after. Mary is being fostered in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.
Post adoption, we are here if you have questions. Of course, we hope everything works out, but we understand that sometimes the cat may not be a good fit. We will support you through any decision to return your pet to us if it doesn't work out, and will take them back into our foster program - no worries.
