Meet Lexi!

This sweet, senior lady is just looking for somebody to love. Her sensitive, gentle nature will really shine in a calm environment with opportunities for pets, cuddles and playtime. She loves predictability and to feel safe with her familiar people, so a quiet and consistent routine will really help her blossom.

Lexi loves to sit next to or near her favorite person, and will often also sleep in bed at night. With visitors, however, she will prefer to keep her distance. Loud noises and sudden movements are also a bit overwhelming for Lexi. Having a cozy, out of the way spot for quiet time or a nap will help to make sure she always has a place she feels comfortable and safe. A bed with a view out a window would be ideal to keep he entertained.

Cat trees or other elevated surfaces can help give her extra opportunities for perching and surveying the kingdom! Providing ample indoor enrichment will be essential to her being able to exhibit healthy cat behavior indoors, such as playing and scratching. While she is a senior, she still very much enjoys playing and keeping active. She loves to scratch and play, so having a variety of toys around the house will keep things interesting. Easy and convenient access to her litter box, possibly adding a second litter box, and keeping good litter box hygiene will be high on her list of requests to make her living environment just right.

She is always eager to eat and may remind you when it's meal time by meowing or circling for food. While she may prefer to get as many treats as you are willing to offer, she is currently on a prescription diet to help keep her in good health. As she gets older or as her needs change, she will also appreciate all the little things you can start to do to help her move around comfortably in the home, such as adding pet steps, non-slip surfaces, and a low-sided litter box.

Cats: Lexi has previously displayed stress behaviors related to living with other cats, and would like to be the only cat in a new home.
Dogs: Lexi has no experience living with dogs.
Children: Lexi has no experience living with children, but will prefer a quiet, predictable home.
