LOCAL KITTEN, Yeti - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Scituate, Rhode Island

A LONELY LEGEND: Little Yeti arrived at the shelter in early August, after wandering the Himalayans all by his lonesome, looking for his family, for an eternity... no, wait, that's not OUR Yeti! No, this little fellow was found wandering the streets of Hope Village, and was brought to the shelter by a Good Samaritan. But our Yeti is also a lonely little beast, having no litter mates at the shelter for companionship, and loves to be held and cuddled whenever his volunteer friends are in to provide companionship. He is doted on by the older cats, who sense his need for some tender affection. He's a purring machine when he's being snuggled, but is still trying to relocate his inner kitten... perhaps that's why he wandered, in search of his lost joy?

Yeti really needs to get out of a shelter cage and into a loving home pronto! He will be happy in a home with people of any age, but will need a little time to adjust to a new environment, to forget the fears he acquired when he was in peril, living outdoors. He'll be good with children, but they'll need to give him a lot of love and handling, and be patient as he learns how to play again. He will thrive living with another cat, and will also adapt to life with a dog, as long as the dog is gentle with little creatures... even legendary beasts like Yeti.

Yeti is approximately 10 weeks old, and has not yet seen a vet, as he is still too young for neutering and a rabies vaccination, but he has received de-wormers and flea treatments, and he is box-trained. Adoption fee is $25 to cover basic costs at the shelter, plus a state-mandated $100 spay/neuter deposit, which is fully refundable upon proof of spay/neuter. Adopter assumes all medical costs, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Personal checks are accepted from R.I. residents only; all others may pay by credit/debit card or money order, payable to "Town of Scituate." No cash is accepted.

No private visits will be arranged without an application.
