Mâle d'environ 1 an

ROCKY IS LOOKING FOR HIS FOREVER FAMILY

Some cats leave a lasting impression on everyone they meet... and Rocky is definitely one of them.

Rocky arrived at Camp Massawippi as a young kitten at the beginning of the summer. Thin and on his own, he quickly captured the hearts of staff and campers alike. Fed, loved, and cared for throughout the season, he became the camp's unofficial mascot. As summer came to an end, no one could bear the thought of Rocky being left alone outdoors once the camp closed its doors.

Thankfully, a compassionate volunteer stepped in to give him a second chance. In fact, the entire camp gathered to say goodbye to Rocky just days before the season ended.

After being taken in by the SPCA Montérégie, Rocky received the medical care he needed, including treatment for fleas, ear mites, an ear infection, and a wound caused by excessive scratching. Today, he is healthy, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to find his forever home.

About Rocky
Male, approximately 1 year old
Domestic short-haired, beige
Neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped

Personality
• Extremely sweet and affectionate
• Loves people and enjoys the company of other cats
• Calm nature with a playful side
• Great with children
• Confident and not at all frightened
• Loves spending hours watching the world from a windowsill or screened window

Rocky is a loving, social companion who enjoys being close to his people. He can sometimes be a little chatty and may meow for no apparent reason. Since he was only recently neutered, this behavior is expected to decrease over time.
Like many young cats, Rocky may occasionally nibble when he's excited and wants to play. He will simply need a family willing to teach him that hands are not toys.

During Rocky’s veterinary examination, a very mild Grade 1 out of 6 heart murmur was detected. This means that a faint heart murmur (a very soft sound) was heard, which simply requires monitoring over time. In many cases, this type of murmur is considered “functional” or “innocent,” meaning it may be related to stress or blood flow and is not necessarily associated with heart disease. However, as a precaution, it will be important to inform his future veterinarian of this finding so that appropriate monitoring can be included during his annual wellness exams. At this time, Rocky is a happy, affectionate, and energetic kitten who shows no concerning clinical signs.

Rocky dreams of a home where he will receive the love, attention, and companionship he has always known, along with a sunny window where he can watch the birds go by. Rocky would appreciate a family where someone is home most of the time.
After winning the hearts of an entire summer camp, all that's left is to win the heart of his forever family.

Could that family be yours? Rocky is waiting with plenty of purrs and love to give.
