Rizzoli - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Port Richey, Florida

Rizzoli is a sweet 3-year-old who has been waiting far too long for her happily ever after.
Rizzoli came to us as at 8 months old and, sadly, has been adopted and returned twice. Neither time was her fault. The first time, the resident cat hissed at her, and she wasn't given the slow introduction or time to acclimate that she needed. Most recently, she was returned because she was shy with her adopter and was afraid of the loud noises in the home. This time, we think, unfortunately, this wasn't the right match for her. We don't know what made the house loud- we just know that Rizzoli was stressed in that environment.
And we know that Rizzoli is a good cat who just needs a slow acclimation to new places. She loves to play, dangly feather toys are her favorite, and absolutely LOVES Churus and once she trusts you, she wants to be loved on. She used to get along with cats, and had a few feline friends at the shelter, but lately she has not been doing well. It could be the stress of being adopted and returned, but we do now recommend that she be your only cat.
After everything she has been through, she may need even more patience now-but we believe the right person will understand that earning her trust is worth it.
Rizzoli would do best in a calm, quiet home with someone who will let her settle in at her own pace. An adult-only home or one with older, respectful children would be ideal. She needs someone who won't expect her to be instantly outgoing, but instead will give her all the time she needs to realize she is safe.
We promised Rizzoli that we would find her the right home and that the third time will be the charm. Her forever person is out there. We know it and we will find them.
