Cat located in this city: Kissimmee, Florida
Cats Name: Donald J. Blumpf, Blumpf
Cats Age & Sex: February 5, 20233 years old
Cats vetting history (spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped): Neutered, vaccinated in first year of life and avoided additional vaccines since, microchipped
Animals story: (where found and reason for wanting to rehome): We were told Blumpf was born on the street. He was fostered then adopted at Petsmart in Olathe, Kansas. He has since lived in Kansas, Palm Beach Gardens, and Kissimmee. We got Blumpf when our situation was perfect. Since then, we bought a house, had a baby, then suddenly lost all of our income. We have to sell everything and move in with my dad, who is allergic to cats. We have 3 cats and no friends or family who will take them.
Personality (shy, social, likes to be held, lap cat? Likes or dislikes): Like Donald J. Trump, Blumpf is orange and loves to eat. At times he has an insatiable appetite for snacks, though with years of dieting and forcibly maintaining a normal weight, he has achieved normal hunger levels. Blumpf will do anything for treats. He taught himself "Roll-over" and "Bang!" He is the easiest cat we have ever owned. He was chilling in his cage making no noise at Petsmart when something told me to pick him- maybe because he was orange? He protested a lot on his way home, so we found out he hates the car and cat backpacks. When we brought him home, we put him in the bathroom to do a slow introduction to Mr. Cat, but he refused to stay contained. He explored his new home with confidence, batted and hissed at Mr. Cat a few times, then was fine ever since. Blumpf is unusually empathetic and will come running to comfort you. He listens when you tell him "No". He ragdolls when you pick him up. He is completely unbothered when held upside down to cut his nails. He doesn't mind belly rubs. He loves playing with water but hates getting wet. He is still easy to bathe, but he will protest loudly. He loves boxes, cabinets, and drawers. He sleeps in our bed a few hours a night. He dislikes loud noises and crying babies. He spends a lot time outside chasing lizards and sunbathing. Blumpf is extremely low maintenance and tons of fun. Warning: He has a prey drive. He sometimes darts out the front door but never goes far. He makes you chase him back-and-forth in front of the house then runs back inside.
Any Supplies that go with pet (food, litter, leash, cat box, bedding, toys): Negotiable. Most of our things need to go.
What food is the cat eating (dry only, dry and wet): Blumpf has no allergies and will eat all cat food. We do want to make sure he gets lots of wet food daily so he always stays healthy! Read more below to learn why.
:::::::::::Please know that cats need canned wet food given DAILY. Why? Because cats have a low thirst drive and actually NEED the moisture from the wet food! Wet food is 75 % water (dry FOOD only 10%) and giving them wet food daily will help them avoid Urinary tract issues (which can lead to litter box avoidance), kidney disease, obesity issues linked to diabetes and cardiac issues. You will save on vet bills too! Limit the overly processed dry food and ensure cat eats all the wet food daily. At the VERY minimum each cat should get one 3oz. can of wet food a day or HALF of a 5.5oz. can a day (although we recommend double this).

*Please know, that when you bring your newly adopted cat or kitten home, it is always BEST to place him/her in a very small room (bathroom works great) with their litter box, food, water, and bed for a few days to a few weeks. This way the animal can adjust much quicker and get acclimated to the new environment with less stress. All cats/kittens need time to adjust, so if you adopt please allow this. Thank you.
