A volunteer got an emergency phone call when a community member discovered Phoenix clinging to a gutter on the side of a house after being thrown out by a, let's just say, very unpleasant man. The community member bravely stepped in to de-escalate, and two volunteers were able to bring Phoenix to safety. She had tar covering her paws, and although she was shaking from the experience and clearly mistreated, she let the volunteers clean her paws for 20 minutes. You try touching a cat's paws that long!

This sweet girl is ready to bless somebody's life, even after everything she's been through. Humans have given her every right to mistrust them, but Phoenix is already so open and gentle with everyone she meets. She is often found playing soccer with any small plastic object, or using her high meow to call you over for pets.

Phoenix Chelwynde is 1-2 years old and is spayed, FeLV and FIV negative, current on shots, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and litter box trained. She is Affectionate, Athletic, Gentle, Playful, and Smart.
