DESCRIPTION
Franco is a sweet, independent boy who loves to keep you company!
Franco is a curious and playful boy who loves to roam throughout the house. It takes a while for him to warm up to you, but once he does he will be your new best friend. His favorite things to do during the day are to lounge in the window and watch the birds outside, receive pets from the humans in his home, and to take naps with you as you watch tv. He loves cuddles and attention, and overall is a chill guy.
Franco was brought to PAWS because he had severe dental disease, so all of his teeth were pulled and he will not need dental work in the future. Having no teeth doesn't stop him from eating his favorite dry food and treats! Franco is a food motivated boy who loves the routine of mealtime. He has a bit of a sensitive stomach, so he's currently on a prebiotic/probiotic diet. He is also FIV+. Franco loves his independence, and will make it known when he wants attention and when he wants to do his own thing. He would do best in a house with adults and older children who can respect his boundaries. Currently Franco is the only animal in his foster home, so it is unknown if he plays well with other cats.
------------------------------------
This cat has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), which is specific to the felines and is not transmissible to dogs, humans, or any other animals. Cats with FIV can live normal, happy, healthy lives, but the virus can weaken a cat's immune system. FIV is spread from cat to cat via mating or deep puncture bite wounds. Thankfully, all our cats are spayed or neutered, so mating is no longer an option! Since FIV does not spread through casual contact like grooming, sneezing, and food/litter sharing, FIV+ cats can live with other cats that have tested negative as long as the cats get along without fighting. Our staff will be happy to tell you more about FIV, and you can learn more about FIV here: phillypaws.org/fiv
