CurryJr - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Meet CurryJr ACCT-A-261360! CurryJr is a 4-year-old male who was brought in by APOs as a stray on 9/9. APOs noted that he "loves being pet; allowed all handling and transfer to feral den. His right front limb is swollen, non weight bearing , painful, and it is potentially broken/fractured." CurryJr is adorably friendly, and will meow out you multiple times until you eventually can't NOT say hi! He will lean into all pets and just adores chin scritches & head pets. Unfortunately, CurryJr was noted to be lethargic with a decreased appetite, having lost 2 lbs; also dehydrated by skin turgor. He was initially noted to have conjunctivitis and blepharospasm OD. He also has small puncture-like wounds around and just proximal to the right carpus, which is edematous and painful; excoriations on crown of head. This has healed somewhat, but is still significant. Due to these medical needs, CurryJr is looking for rescue placement for his medical needs. CurryJr is no spice, all sweetness, so please take a look!

MEDICAL:



Per his exam on 9/24, CurryJr was lethargic with a decreased appetite; dehydrated by skin turgor. His Body Condition Score was 4 (Lean) and he was noted to have lost 2 lbs. He tested negative for panleuk.



Per his exam on 9/22, CurryJr is BAR (bright, alert and responsive), with scant nasal discharge & sneezing. He was generally eupneic, with toe-touching lameness RFL with improved but remaining carpal swelling. His pain is also improving compared to his most recent exam.



Per his exam on 9/19, CurryJr had a brief exam due to patient compliance. He is BAR (bright, alert and responsive), with persistent swelling of R carpus; painful to the touch.



Per his exam on 9/12, CurryJr has conjunctivitis and blepharospasm OD. He has small puncture-like wounds around and just proximal to the right carpus, which is edematous and painful; excoriations on crown of head. He has BB gunshot wounds to right carpus/antebrachium w/ retained bullet fragments.



BEHAVIORAL:



Per staff on 9/24:

"I went to say hello to CurryJr and he was curled into a ball in his cat bed with a smile on his face. When I came up to the kennel, he woke up & meowed a few times. He allowed me to pet him all over, and closed his eyes, leaning heavily into chin scritches & head pets. He vocalized once when I pet his back, but I think it was just because I stopped petting his head. He's a very sweet boy!"
