CARLA & BRUCE

Domestic Short Hair
🇺🇸
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

DESCRIPTION

Carla was found in an abandoned apartment building in South Philly, along with her two siblings by a colony caretaker. The caretaker noticed their mother coming around, took her to the vet, and found out she recently gave birth. After days of searching and handing out flyers, a call came in that someone knew where they were. Over the next few days the caretaker was able to safely trap them and bring them inside her home. Carla was the brave stand-out. She was originally named Carl, because most orange cats are boys, but she’s special in every way. It was decided that the other two would be adopted together, and that Carla (formerly known as Carl) would be paired with a kitten from a different
litter. And that is where their brother/sister best friendship begins.

Bruce and Carla hit it off from the start. They were introduced slowly and were kept separate at first, but it was clear they wanted to be together. Each time one was taken out of the room, the other would cry. They are truly inseparable, and literally play and wrestle for hours at a time until someone passes out. They love grooming each other, sleeping together, and doing all the things that besties do together. It’s truly adorable to witness in person.

Carla is something really special. She’s an orange tabby, and she’s female, which is already pretty rare, but her personality is what really stands out. She’s confident, curious, and completely fearless. She was the first of her litter trapped. It’s like she was begging to be inside a home full of love. The vacuum doesn’t bother her. A loud hair dryer? Nothing. New cats or new spaces? She just walks right in like she owns the place. She’s the Beyonce of a cat. A true wonder of the world. That’s the best way to describe her. Fearless, dynamic, and truly one of a kind. She has that kind of energy where everything feels simple, and anyone who is lucky enough to adopt her will truly hit the jackpot (and I’ll be forever jealous). She is incredibly sweet. Not just friendly, but genuinely affectionate. She LOVES love. She’ll do her own thing, but the second you sit down, she’s right there ready to curl up with you. It’s that perfect mix of independent and insanely loving. She’d do great in a home that wants a cat with personality, confidence, and a lot of love to give. She’ll do great with any other cats, or dogs (although she has yet to be tested with them). I’m confident she’d have no issue whatsoever.

And then there’s Bruce. Yes, like Batman. He’s a sleek, all-black little guy and honestly looks the part. Super handsome, a little mysterious at first, and quietly brave. Bruce can be a bit shy when you first meet him, but give him a little time and he completely melts. We’re talking maybe a couple days, or honestly more like 20 minutes, a Churu, and a toy. Once he decides you’re safe, that’s it. You’re his person. After that, he turns into the sweetest, most loving cat. He’ll flop right into your lap, ask for pets, and just want to be near you all the time. He’s already proven he’s
the kind of cat who will sit with you while you get ready and just watch you like you’re the most interesting thing in the world. He’s also just... easy. No drama, no attitude. He just wants love. Food is great, sure, but if you walk in and talk to him, he’ll pick you over a bowl of sardines every time. All he really needs is a little patience at the beginning, maybe a week to fully settle in, and then you get this incredibly loyal, affectionate little shadow. If you want a cat that bonds hard and becomes yours, Bruce is that cat. Their foster said they’d keep him if they didn’t already have six cats!

Both cats would be great with other cats. They haven’t been tested around dogs, but their foster thinks they’d be good with a gentle dog who is cat friendly. They also haven’t been around any kids yet, but with a slow introduction, she doesn’t think there would be an issue at all. They’re truly the perfect pair to add to just about any family!
