Chai is a tortoiseshell cat, roughly 4 to 7 years old and 8 pounds of quiet, watchful beauty. Her warm amber and black coat is striking, but it is her eyes that will get you. Cautious, steady, and full of something she has not yet decided to share.

She came to the shelter scared, and the shelter has not made it easier. That is not who Chai is. It is just where she is right now. She can be handled, she accepts gentle interaction, and she is clearly a cat with depth. She just needs someone willing to meet her there.

We prefer to schedule appointments for meet and greets to make sure someone is available to spend time with you. The shelter is open Monday through Friday, 10am to 3pm, and appointments outside of those hours may be available based on volunteer availability.
