From the Vet: Raikou is Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) positive, FIV in cats typically causes a lifelong weakening of the cat's immune system. FIV is spread to other cats through deep penetrative bite wounds resulting in blood. This is not spreadable to humans, dogs, or other animals besides cats.
Raikou may require more medical care in the future depending on how his FIV progresses, however many cats live long, normal lifespans while infected.

Raikou tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) when he was 2 months old. We recommend an adopter retest at 6 months of age to confirm a positive test.
