Whiskers is a handsome 7.5-year-old neutered male Domestic Shorthair with a beautiful brown tabby coat. This sweet, shy gentleman may take a little time to feel comfortable, but once he does, you’ll discover a loving companion who appreciates the comfort and security of home.

Whiskers is a true homebody. He prefers the familiar surroundings of an indoor home and would much rather curl up somewhere cozy than go for a car ride. He can be slow to warm up, so his ideal family will be patient and give him the time and space he needs to come out of his shell at his own pace.

He has experience living with other cats and children, both under and over 10 years old, and has done well with them. Whiskers also has a healthy appetite and tends to eat his meals with enthusiasm—so his family may need to keep an eye on his speedy eating!

One very important thing to know about Whiskers: he is a litter-box connoisseur! He prefers his box to be exceptionally clean and may refuse to use it if it isn't freshly scooped. Keeping his litter box clean and inviting will help him stay comfortable and happy.

At the Humane Society of Midland County, all animals adopted will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations prior to an adoption. Dogs over 6 months of age will be heartworm tested, and any dog with a positive test will receive treatment at No Appointment Needed to Meet Adoptable Animals!
We have open adoption hours, and walk-ins are always welcome! While filling out an application lets us know you're interested in adopting, it does not hold an animal, and applications are not required to meet the available animals. We do highly recommend and may require you to bring any dogs that reside in the same household, or that will be around commonly if you are meeting a new dog companion.
