Shadow WV (seeking foster home) - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Merrifield, Virginia

Shadow was rescued in West Virginia. She is a friendly girl but still quite timid and lacking confidence, and she needs an experienced foster to help her come out of her shell. She is currently living with other cats and gets along with them fine, in fact they seem to give her comfort, so she should be paired with at least one other friendly kitty she can make friends with.

When foster mom brings the meal bowls, Shadow will come forward and rub against the ankles and do a little prance-dance waiting for the bowl to be put on the floor. She is not easy to capture and pick up but once that is accomplished, she most often tucks her face into your elbow and then eventually will relax and perhaps even give up a quiet purr. She seems to want the human touch but she can't quite bring herself to totally trust a human walking up to her and picking her up. She needs frequent human exposure with allowance of time and patience to increase her trust and confidence levels.

She likes to have an enclosed area, such as a kitty condo, to retreat where she feel safe but can still observe what is going on in the room. She is accustomed to Fancy Feast canned meals with 24/7 access to a high quality chicken kibble. She is using a tall, upright scratching post wrapped in sisal rope. She uses an open top, high sided litter box with unscented Worlds Best corn litter.

Shadow is spayed, current on vaccines, tested negative for FiV/FeLV, and is micro chipped.
