A concrete plant is not where anyone would choose to begin, but it is where I came from, and the road from there to here has been a beautiful one. I did not trust people right away. That took time, and it took gentleness, and yes, it took treats. Treats were a very important part of my journey and I will not pretend otherwise.

Once I understood that the world inside a home was safe, something in me opened up. The warmth of being indoors, the softness of a quiet life, the peace of knowing I was protected: all of it reached me in ways I had not experienced before. I am a gentle girl with a sweet spirit, and being in an environment that honored that spirit let me finally show it.

I was a wonderful mama before I came into rescue, and that nurturing, careful part of me is still very much who I am. I move thoughtfully, I love quietly, and I appreciate every kind gesture that comes my way.
