Meet Ashley & Stacey!
Ashley, a beautiful gray tabby, and Stacey, a gorgeous solid-gray kitten, are bonded sisters born around May 1, 2026, at a mobile home park in Macomb Township.
Their journey to rescue was a little different. In late July, Ashley was caught during a TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) trapping and was spayed and ear-tipped along with several other cats. However, her caregivers recognized that she had the potential to become socialized, so Ashley and her sister Stacey, who had also been trapped, were given the opportunity to go into a foster home.
Since arriving in foster care, these girls have been making progress at their own pace and learning that people can be pretty wonderful!
Ashley is becoming more comfortable every day. She enjoys being brushed, will let her foster parents touch her nose, and follows them around the house. She even likes putting her little paws up on her foster mom's back! Recently, she's started allowing a few gentle pets at a time. Stacey is making progress, too! She also enjoys being brushed and seems very close to accepting pets from her foster parents. It's exciting to see their confidence growing!
These girls will need a special kind of home. They aren't kittens who can simply be brought into a home and expected to immediately settle in. If given too much freedom too quickly, they will likely find a hiding spot and retreat, making it harder to build trust. They need a smaller, safe space to start, a predictable routine, and someone willing to let them set the pace.
Prior experience with shy or fearful cats would be wonderful, but just as important is having patience, understanding, and the willingness to let them blossom on their own timeline. The reward of earning their trust and watching them become more confident can be incredibly special!
Ashley and Stacey do enjoy playing with their foster kitty siblings, so having other friendly cats in the home could help them continue to gain confidence.
They haven't been around children or dogs, but we think a quieter household with older, respectful children or very mellow, cat-friendly dogs could work with proper introductions.
If you have a little extra patience, a lot of love, and a soft spot for the shy ones who need someone to believe in them, Ashley and Stacey may be the perfect girls for you. They are looking for a forever home where they can stay together and continue blossoming into the loving companions they're meant to be.
Adopting a cat from our rescue includes several important health services. The adoption fee of $300 for the pair covers neuter/ spay, FIV/FeLV testing, microchipping, and age-appropriate vaccinations to ensure the health and well-being of the cat.
