Valkyrie & Freya — From Backyard Beginnings to Bright New Adventures
Born this summer to a community cat in New Hope, Mississippi, Valkyrie and Freya have followed in the pawprints of their siblings, Tracker and Matriarch. Their journey began outdoors, where every day was about survival. Today, they know the comforts of soft beds, full bowls, toys that magically appear, and the gentle hands of people who have shown them that humans can be trusted.
Now it's their turn to find forever families.
Freya
If love had four paws, it would look a lot like Freya.
This sweet girl has never met a stranger. She believes every lap is hers to sit in, every hand was made for petting, and every person is a potential best friend. Freya is the kind of kitten who will happily greet you at the door, follow you from room to room, and remind you every day that affection is one of life's greatest gifts.
Playful, outgoing, and endlessly loving, Freya will fit beautifully into just about any home that's ready for a kitten with a heart as big as her personality.
Valkyrie
Like the warrior she's named after, Valkyrie has been brave from the very beginning.
She's come such a long way since her days outdoors, but she's still a little more thoughtful than her sister. Sudden noises or fast movements can make her pause, so she'd be happiest in a quieter home where she can continue building her confidence at her own pace.
Don't mistake her cautious nature for a lack of affection, though. Valkyrie has a motor that starts purring almost the moment you touch her. And yes... she is a tortie, which means she occasionally shows off that famous little bit of "tortitude." It's all part of her charm. One minute she's sweetly asking for pets, and the next she's reminding everyone that she has opinions, thank you very much.
She'll reward a patient family with quiet companionship, gentle affection, and the special bond that comes from earning the trust of a kitten who's learned that the world can be a safe place.
Together, Valkyrie and Freya represent exactly why rescue matters. They were born outside with uncertain futures, yet with patience, kindness, and time, they've become healthy, happy kittens ready for lives filled with love.
Just like Tracker and Matriarch before them, these girls are ready for their next chapter.
Whether they find homes together or separately, one thing is certain—they've already proven they're survivors.

Everybody loves kittens, and it's easy to see why! Kittens four months old or younger are only adopted out in pairs or to homes that already have a friendly, playful resident cat. Young kittens simply do not thrive in isolation, and we do not make exceptions. If you're looking for a single cat, please look to our older kittens, teens, or adults. They're wonderful companions and fully ready to be your one-and-only.
All of the Sweet Paws animals are loved a great deal by their rescuers, fosters, and the volunteers who've cared for them along the way. Your kitten will be up to date on appropriate vaccinations by adoption day, but please keep in mind that kittens require multiple routine vet visits throughout the course of their first year. Sweet Paws is staffed by volunteers, and processing applications is time intensive; therefore, we ask that you only submit an application if you are fully committed to adopting.
