This sweet little kitten was the lone survivor of a litter born along a busy highway in an RV park in Columbus, Mississippi. With no one to care for her and danger surrounding her every day, a compassionate trapper decided to take a chance on her — hoping she might learn that humans can be kind and that life indoors can be safe.

Duchess Mistybelle is still discovering the comforts of house life and learning to trust the people around her. Sudden sounds and quick movements can still startle her, but there's one sure way to her heart: wet food.

Despite her rough beginning, she has never shown a hint of aggression. In fact, once she's gently picked up and cradled, she relaxes into your arms, purring softly and leaning in for comfort and reassurance. Deep down, she wants to trust. She wants to feel safe.

Duchess Mistybelle is looking for someone patient enough to see past her uncertainty and recognize the incredible cat she is becoming. The potential is absolutely there — the kind of loyal, loving companion who blossoms because someone finally gave her the chance she deserved.

Everybody loves kittens, and it's easy to see why! Kittens four months old or younger are only adopted out in pairs or to homes that already have a friendly, playful resident cat. Young kittens simply do not thrive in isolation, and we do not make exceptions. If you're looking for a single cat, please look to our older kittens, teens, or adults. They're wonderful companions and fully ready to be your one-and-only.

All of the Sweet Paws animals are loved a great deal by their rescuers, fosters, and the volunteers who've cared for them along the way. Your kitten will be up to date on appropriate vaccinations by adoption day, but please keep in mind that kittens require multiple routine vet visits throughout the course of their first year. Sweet Paws is staffed by volunteers, and processing applications is time intensive; therefore, we ask that you only submit an application if you are fully committed to adopting.
