Huda & Elf, what can I say..I can’t tell them apart for one, or rather I don't know which name belongs to which cat, but their personalities are very different! Let’s call our confident and curious girl Huda, and our skittish little lady Elf.
They’re both around eight month old, black and white, with adorable Dalmation-like paws and long whiskers. Huda has a distinctive white streak down the front of her face and I think she looks a bit like a penguin straight on. Elf is a little fluffier and tends to look grumpy or skeptical of you all of the time. While these babies were hesitant about me upon arrival, Huda quickly started to warm up to me by day two. She started sleeping with me in bed immediately, and now likes to cuddle up with me all night, often in the crook of my legs or arms. At first Elf would only venture onto the bed when it was empty, and primarily liked to hang out under it. After around 2-2.5 weeks, she began to allow me to pet her, and climb onto me for love. It still needs to be on her terms though– she is quick to run away with any sudden movements, loud noises, or if I get too close to her while standing up. She is probably most eager to come out when I’m topping up their food or relaxing in bed. Huda tends to want to be at my side, or preferably on top of me, as much as possible. She’s relentless when it comes to pursuing what she wants, and she spends most of the day following me around like velcro and wants to be lying in my lap, stretched up to my shoulder, or playing around and exploring in view. She’s definitely a rascally kitten, who is curious to chew on just about anything new, so be mindful of plants! She also loves to shred things like toilet paper and plastic. They also love to explore, especially at night when they’re unsupervised, so be mindful of what you leave out...Huda has stolen food and hidden it under the bed once or twice, so cheeky! Huda will chase after most things you throw, but is more interested in toys that continue moving, like birds on a string, or something with a stretchy rope she can pull on. Huda and Elf don’t seem super cuddly with each other, but will roughhouse and have no problem eating food together or sharing a litter box. I haven’t seen them interact with children, dogs, or other cats, but I would imagine that Huda would take to additional friends more quickly than Elf. They LOVE to climb, so having a set up of cat furniture and wall mounts where they can do so would probably make them very happy.
