Dexter - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in East Amherst, New York

Meet Dexter — our delightfully chill, dangerously cute house panther!

DEXTER’S OFFICIAL RECIPE:
1 generous scoop of chill
1 heaping helping of go-with-the-flow
2 scoops of cuteness
A healthy dash of curiosity
Several spoonfuls of snuggles
Just enough silliness to keep things interesting

Mix thoroughly, wrap everything in a sleek black coat, and voilà — you’ve made a Dexter!

Dexter is a kick-back, cuddle-up, catch-a-catnap kind of kitten. While some kittens seem determined to pack 37 activities into every waking minute, Dexter understands the importance of a balanced schedule: play a little, investigate a little, snuggle a lot, nap accordingly.

Don’t mistake his laid-back lifestyle for laziness, though! Break out a laser toy or toss a ball his way and Dexter is happy to demonstrate that his house-panther hunting skills are fully operational. He loves to play and have fun — he just sees no reason to exhaust himself unnecessarily. Work smarter, not harder.

When new people arrive, Dexter may initially hang back and conduct a little quality-control inspection. But there’s one tiny problem with his plan to play it cool: he’s way too curious. Eventually he simply HAS to know who you are, what you’re doing, and whether any of it involves him.

Once Dexter is comfortable, you’ll discover a sweet little guy who is a huge fan of snuggles, snoozes, and simply hanging out with his people. If your idea of the perfect companion is someone who can enjoy a little playtime and then happily settle in beside you for a serious nap session, Dexter may have been mixed specifically for you.

Dexter is around 6 months old and is neutered, microchipped, FeLV/FIV negative, vaccinated, treated with topical flea control, and dewormed.

Dexter needs a home with another friendly cat or kitten to keep him company — or, even better, consider adopting him with his sister Samantha! Having a feline friend gives young kittens an important companion for play, socialization, boundaries, confidence, and all those other essential lessons taught at Kitten University.

So if your household is missing one calm, curious, cuddly little house panther, we may have just the recipe.
