Clarence - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Columbus, Ohio

This lovable, strikingly handsome boy is Clarence, one of the 12 cats rescued from terrible conditions inside a hoarder house over the summer. You see, Clarence had been locked in a small dog crate for much of his life with no fresh air, no sunlight, dirty water if any was available, and a litterbox growing mold. He had no toys, no bedding and couldn't run, jump, or play in his small crate. The floor of the crate was inches thick with feces and urine.

Clarence spent a couple months at the office, decompressing and receiving needed vet care, and while he was slowly growing more accustomed to kindness from humans, understandably he remained guarded and uncertain about the new world around him.

So in early September, it was decided that Clarence needed a quieter space and off he went to his foster parents' home. There Clarence was granted his very own room with a sunny window, a brand new cat tree, and a TV! He quickly embraced having his own space and within a week was allowing his foster mom to brush his beautiful fur. He loved his treats and enjoyed sitting near "mom," binge-watching Homeland on Netflix (although he wasn't a huge fan of all the loud bombs and gunfire coming from his TV). Secretly he much preferred when she switched the channel to Cat TV.

Clarence has become a favorite in his foster home. He ignores the other cats and only has eyes for his humans. And food. Given his several years without a reliable food source, he can't be blamed for prioritizing keeping his belly full!

Clarence is now looking for a home where he can continue receiving the attention he so deserves--pets, head scratches, and love from his forever humans. He is estimated to be between 3 and 5 years old.
