Meet Sara the Trisaratops! Sara found her way to HSPPR in need of a leg amputation, but this little girl has proven just how tough she is! She’s recovered beautifully and is now slowly learning how to navigate the world on three legs. Sara can be nervous around new people, loud noises, and lots of movement. But give her a quiet, calm moment with someone she trusts, and you’ll discover the sweetest little purr machine. She’ll need a patient adopter who is willing to let her take her time, build confidence, and adjust at her own pace. And there’s one thing Sara is VERY sure about: she LOVES other cats! She absolutely adores feline friends and must go to a home with another cat who can become her new best friend. If you’re looking for a special girl who just needs someone willing to see the sweet, loving cat underneath her nervous exterior, Sara might be your girl. I am not currently at the shelter because I'm resting and healing in a loving foster home.*Staff thinks I will be ready by mid August.* You can sign up to pre-adopt me by placing a $50 choice hold. This is a non-refundable fee that does not go towards my adoption fee, but it does give you the first opportunity to adopt me. Shelter staff will contact you when I’m ready to go home with my new family! To place a choice hold, you can either come into the shelter or call us at 719-302-8707; you may wait to speak with a customer service representative or leave a voicemail. Choice holds are placed on a first-come, first-serve basis and only one choice hold can be placed per animal. Once I am medically cleared to go home, I will have to be adopted at the shelter without a visit. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to visit while I’m in the foster home as it’s a lot of stress on me to be transported back and forth to the shelter for visits, which makes me more susceptible to getting sick. I want to be healthy for our new life together!
