Hi, my name is Ash.

Not too long ago, I was living in a cat colony in Indio with my brother. A wonderful woman named Marisa, who dedicates her time to feeding and caring for cat colonies throughout Indio and Coachella, noticed me and made sure I had food while I was surviving outside.

When rescuers came to help, they were only able to catch me. My brother stayed hidden, and despite many attempts to find him, he was never seen again. I still hope he found safety too.

When I first arrived in rescue, I was very shy and unsure of people. Everything felt scary and unfamiliar. To make things even harder, I wasn't feeling well and needed extra care, including subcutaneous fluids, to help me recover.

But every day, I get a little braver.

I'm learning that people can be kind, that cozy beds are amazing, and that I don't have to worry about finding my next meal. While I may be a little shy when we first meet, I have a sweet heart and am learning to trust more every day.

Now I'm healthy, safe, and ready to find a family of my own.
