At less than a year old, tiny Kata was dropped at the shelter after someone spotted her as a stray roaming in their parking lot. We assumed she was younger than she was, and were surprised to learn a couple weeks later that she was pregnant. Kata left for a foster home so she could be monitored when the time came for her kittens to be born. Unfortunately, three did not survive the birth and the fourth was only alive for a week before he too passed away. Between the lack of hydration and nutrition as a stray, and her young age, the kittens did not have a chance.
Kata finished her quarantine period and tested negative for FIV/FeLV, was vaccinated and spayed, and returned to the shelter to join a free range room while she awaited adoption. Thats when we learned Kata needs to be an only child! Kata is tiny but fierce. She is barely 6 lbs but throws her weight around warning the others not to get too close.
She adores people, fortunately! She does not hold back when it comes to human affection and has proved difficult to photograph because she wants to be in your lap or as close to you as possible. She would love a home where she can be a spoiled only child!
Please consider making an appointment to see if Kata could be the right fit for your home!
*Must be 21 or older to adopt
**Our shelter has a policy to only adopt within a 50 mile radius so that if problems arise the pet can easily be returned to the shelter.
