Shuri - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Chaska, Minnesota

This is Shuri, Princess of Wakanda!

She's a lovely cat with a lot of energy, but can be laid back when she wants to be. A very playful cat who likes her to have attention and hand play. She may kind of nip at your hand while you try to pet her, but she isn't trying to hurt you, she just wants to play. She's still learning how to differentiate between petting and hand play.

When it comes to her toys, she needs lots of chew toys cause she will go through them. She especially loves bouncy balls or anything she can chase. But if you have a bouncy ball, she'll play fetch with you all day long!

She is great at cuddling in the bed with you. She will wake you up with kisses on the nose or face! She doesn't mind being picked up once she's comfortable with you. She'll let you know when she wants attention and loves having her face and neck rubbed daily. Doesn't really like her tail touched but does enjoy full body rubs.

She's a curious cat who loves to explore her surroundings and has a tendency to get into some things. But she always apologizes with kisses. She will be a great family cat and I hope that she will be adopted to a loving family because she will be missed.

Shuri participated in our Whiskers of Hope program and his bio is written by his foster from Oak Park Heights Correctional Facility.

Whiskers of Hope: Fostering Cats in Correctional Facilities, in partnership with Oak Park Heights Correctional Facility is designed to give cats a calm, consistent environment to decompress and receive one-on-one care and provide incarcerated individuals with emotional support, a sense of purpose, and the opportunity to give back by fostering animals in need.

Each participating individual lives in the mental health unit and has earned the opportunity to be part of this program through positive behavior, leadership, and responsibility. Cats live with their assigned caregiver in a private room, with access to shared enrichment spaces and regular oversight from both facility staff and our team.

Each cat receives daily enrichment, love, and individualized care. In turn, the program offers therapeutic benefits to the people involved and helps prepare each cat for a successful adoption.

All CSHS kitties are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, FIV/FeLV test (if not born in care), dewormed and microchipped.
