Meet Frogger

Female I 2 Months I UTD Vaccines I Dewormed I Will be spayed, microchipped, tested for FeLV/FIV, and medically cleared prior to going home.

Frogger came into our care from a nearby county shelter with suspected nerve damage to her back left leg, she was dragging it upon intake. She was named after the stuffy toy she arrived with as it has not left her side!

She also has a congenital deformity with her nose and upper lip, almost like a baby cleft that healed. She does *not* have a cleft palate though and there are no concerns going forward with this deformity. There is a close up photo included for reference.

Since being in our care and starting physical therapy and steroids she is actually starting to use the leg somewhat and regain movement. Our hope is that over the next 2-4 weeks we will see her start to walk on it again and ultimately not have to proceed with an amputation. Worst case scenario if she does not regain use we will amputate mid to end of September. She has full use of her bladder and bowels though which is great news! She'll likely have a go home day mid to end of September if all goes well without needing surgery. If she does need an amputation likely looking at mid October. We'd love to have a pre-adoption lined up for her so she has a spot to land as soon as she's good to go!

Personality wise this girl is a stage 5 clinger and loves to yap if you aren't petting her round the clock. She does great with other cats, would do incredible with kids, and will be socialized with her fosters large 140lb mastiff.

Aggression or anxiety
Inappropriate chewing or scratching
Litter box avoidance
Difficulty adjusting to new pets or children later in life

While not all single kittens experience these challenges, its a common reason cats are rehomed later. The best way to prevent SKS is to adopt kittens in pairs or ensure there is already a playful, compatible cat in the home.
