Mud Cake

Don't let the name fool you. Mud Cake is nothing but sweetness.

This handsome gray and white kitten got his name after being found in rural NC, starving, and caked in mud. The moment he spotted his rescuer, he came running, meowing for help. What started as a silly nickname stuck as his personality is every bit as sweet as the gooey chocolate dessert he's named after.

Mud Cake is a silky medium-to-long-haired boy with long legs and an adorable bouncy gait. Sometimes he looks more like a puppy than a kitten. He's playful, curious, and always ready for fun with his kitten friends. Mud Cake has strong opinions about his beloved fake fur pom poms.

When playtime is over, you'll find him stretched out in a sunny spot, soaking up the warmth or snuggled up close for kisses and cuddles.

Mud Cake thrives on companionship and must be adopted with another kitten or into a home with a young, playful cat who can match his energy level.

After such a rough start in life, Mud Cake is ready for a forever home where he'll never have to ask for help again, only for more cuddles.

Adopt Mud Cake and add a little sweetness to your life.

***Interested in Adopting?***

Scroll down and click "Visit Our Profile Page" our application is under our Adoption Policies Section. Please complete the adoption application in full. PF Inquiries and Matches are not evaluated.

We do not adopt on a first-come, first-served basis. Our priority is finding the best match for each cat or kitten. Applicants interested in adopting a pair of kittens are typically given higher priority. Due to concerns about Single Kitten Syndrome (SKS), young kittens are not eligible for solo adoption unless there is already a young kitty of similar energy in the home.

What is Single Kitten Syndrome?

Single Kitten Syndrome occurs when young kittens are adopted alone. Without a feline playmate, they may develop behavioral issues such as:

Aggression or anxiety
Inappropriate chewing or scratching
Litter box avoidance
Difficulty adjusting to new pets or children later in life

While not all single kittens experience these challenges, its a common reason cats are rehomed later. The best way to prevent SKS is to adopt kittens in pairs or ensure there is already a playful, compatible cat in the home.
