What my friends at ACC say about me:
My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!
I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me.
I'm an independent kitty who likes to do my own thing.
I am looking for a home with a patient person.
I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.
I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.
I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.
Candy Corn has presented with a high level of FAS in the shelter setting and while shy and tense throughout the interaction - he is tolerant of touch. He remained in place and did not escalate to any level of offensive /distance increasing behaviors such as hissing, growling, or swatting. Due to the compounding traumas/triggers, he experienced prior to entering the shelter - he needs to be given time and the appropriate environment to decompress in order to accurately assess his true personality. His behavior right now appears to only be a result of trauma and a lack of control in his environment. He has shown moments of potential for improvement and will require an adopter with an understanding of fearful cats, decompression periods, and a working to help these types of cats adjust to new environments. He would do best in an adult-only home. Primary Color: Orange Tabby Weight: 11.2lbs Age: 7yrs 0mths 0wks
