Since 2020, SOS has rescued and adopted more than 1,500 stray cats in the Pittsburgh area. Included in our $225 (full vetting is expensive) adoption fee. It will cost you more money to have everything we have already completed for them done. Adopting from us supports S.O.S and our mission to save cats from neglect, abandonment, hoarding or friendly strays stuck living outside.

All of our cats are spayed/neutered, dewormed, have received Capstar for any flea issues and NEXGUARD COMBO for any parasites, received two FVRCP vaccines as well as their rabies vaccine, are treated for ear mites (if needed), are combo tested for FeLV and FIV(beware large shelters no longer test) and are microchipped which will transfer to you.


SOS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our adoption fee, along with donations, allow us to tend to our rescued cats in the manner in which they deserve: fully vetted and fully cared for. We also allocate funds to continue TNR (trap, neuter, and release) efforts for all of the strays who are too unsocialized and human-adverse for an indoor home. By spaying/neutering, these
cats live a healthier life and no longer contribute to increasing the stray cat population.

When you adopt a cat from SOS, you're doing more than giving a cat a good home. You're also helping those stray cats who cannot be homed. One cats adoption improves multiple cats' lives.
