DESCRIPTION

Ring Around the Rosie... but this girl's story has a few more chapters than we first thought."

We were told she was around 5... but after getting to know her, we believe Rosie is likely quite a bit older--and honestly, it shows in the best (and hardest) ways.

Rosie is a front declawed black beauty who has been through a lot of change. She lost her person, and now she's trying to navigate life in a shelter... and it's not going well for her. The noise, the constant activity, the unfamiliar environment--it's overwhelming for a cat like Rosie.

She's not acting out. She's not "difficult."
She's just scared and unsure, trying to make sense of a world that changed overnight.

But underneath that worry?

She is incredibly loving.

Rosie is a cuddler. The kind of cat who wants to be close, who leans into you, who finds comfort in gentle hands and a quiet moment. She's lived with dogs, cats, and children and has done well--she truly is a kind, easygoing soul.

Being declawed makes things harder for her. It means she relies even more on feeling safe in her environment, and right now, she doesn't feel that way.

What Rosie needs now isn't a busy home or a lot of expectations. She needs:
* A calm, quiet space
* Someone patient and understanding
* A home where she can finally feel secure again

Senior cats like Rosie don't always get the attention they deserve--but they are often the most grateful, the most devoted, and the most in need of a second chance.

She's not asking for much. Just a soft place to land... and someone to love her through this next chapter. 🖤

If you have room in your home--and your heart--for a gentle, older soul who just needs a chance to feel safe again...

Rosie is waiting.An adoption application can be filled out on the DHS website https://www.dekalbhumanesociety.org/adopt. Dog adoption fees are $250.00 for all puppies and adult dogs. Seniors are a donation of choice.
