Charly - Domestic Medium Hair Cat for Adoption in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Charly ACCT-A-255414 is a an approximately 8-year-old female spayed cat who came in as an owner surrender along with her bonded housemate Chase ACCT-A-255415 (seen above) on 8/5/26. A friend of Charly and Chase's original owner unfortunately had to surrender them to ACCTPhilly on 8/5/26 because their owner was tragically displaced from their home.

Charly is friendly with our staff and is in need of a Rescue/Adopter who can support her lifelong medical need as she was diagnosed as Hyperthyroid while at the shelter, which is a common chronic metabolic condition in senior cats. She was started treatment, which is Methimazole oral tablets, on 8/9, which will need to be given every 12 hours every day. Her thyroid level will require periodic follow-ups with a vet to make sure the level is being treated appropriately or if her medication dose should change.

8/8/26 Body Condition Score of 3/9 & noted to have an unthrifty hair coat with diffuse muscle wasting; Mildly dehydrated; Polydipsic (increased thirst). An oral exam was not able to be performed at that time.

8/8/26- CBC/Chem17: Hct 30.1 (L), Neut 10.33 (H), Mono 1.22 (H), remainder WNL- T4: 8.8 (H)Tx:- Methimazole 2.5 mg PO BIDRecommend recheck T4 in 4-6 weeks

Interacted with Charly this AM and she was friendly and allowed petting. Very thirsty - water dish was empty and when refilled she drank for a long time.
