Meet Kodiak
Kodiak is a male orange kitten, approximately 45 months old, and this little guy has already been through more than most kittens ever should. He was originally brought to a local emergency vet after being found drowning in a backyard pool. When he came to us, he was extremely sick and scared, but despite everything he had been through, this little guy fought hard and made an incredible recovery.
Now, he is finally ready to find the forever home he deserves.
Because of his rough start in life, Kodiak can still be a little wary of new people and unfamiliar situations. He needs a patient and understanding family that will give him the time and space to adjust at his own pace. Once he feels safe, you get to see the sweet kitten underneath all that initial fear.
We believe he likely came from an outdoor or stray litter before somehow ending up alone in someone's pool. He is still young and has plenty of time to continue building his confidence, but he will do best with a calm home that is committed to helping him feel safe, secure, and loved.
Kodiak does wonderfully with dogs and other cats, and having another confident animal around may actually help him continue coming out of his shell. Because he is still learning to trust and can be nervous with new situations, we would recommend a home without young children so he can adjust without too much stress.
Kodiak has already had a great start on his medical care. He has:
FIV/FeLV tested
Received his FVRCP vaccines + Rabies
Been microchipped
Been dewormed
Had a fecal check
Received Revolution Plus for flea, tick, and heartworm prevention
He is not neutered yet, but he has a neuter appointment scheduled with TCAP for October 5th. His adopter will be expected to take him to that appointment, or to another neuter appointment we have available around that time.
There is a $180 adoption fee due at adoption, and an adoption contract will be signed prior to adoption to help ensure Kodiak gets the safe and loving future he deserves.
Kodiak has already fought so hard to get to this point, and now he just needs someone willing to give him a little patience while he learns that people can be good and that he is finally safe. Once he trusts you, I think you will get to see just how sweet this little survivor really is.
If you think you may be the patient and loving home Kodiak has been waiting for, send me a message to inquire about adoption!
