Meet Miss Jackson and Rowena - Bonded Pair of Twins That Need a Second Chance

Rowena is a sweet senior girl who has spent the past 10 years with her very special companion—her sister, Miss Jackson. After being adopted from Michigan Humane Society about a decade ago as kittens, these girls have shared a lifetime together.

Their world was unexpectedly turned upside down following the tragic passing of their beloved owner, leaving both sisters in need of a new beginning. Because they were microchipped, we were able to learn more about their history, including their names, their approximate age, and their connection to Michigan Humane Society. It was such a gift to be able to piece together a little bit of their story.

Thankfully, a wonderful prior FCS adopter stepped in to rescue Rowena and Miss Jackson and is lovingly fostering them while we search for their next family. The girls are safe, together, and fully vetted—but it's important that we find them a new home soon so their temporary foster can remain just that: temporary. Because their rescuer stepped in, they did not have to be returned to a shelter with kennels.

Rowena is a gentle, somewhat reserved girl who likes to take her time getting to know you. She may be shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, her sweet personality begins to emerge. She enjoys pets and will happily rub against you when she's ready to say hello.

She's not looking for a busy or complicated life. Rowena would love a peaceful home with someone who understands that earning a senior kitty's trust is a beautiful process. Give her a little patience, and she'll show you the sweet girl underneath that initial shyness.
